Kia Ora and welcome to Youthtown, your happy place!
Why stay at home when you can have more fun building experience and qualifications with new friends? Whether you're into creative, tech, sport, outdoors, adventure or just social activities, there's something for you.
And we're smoke, drug and alcohol free!
Select your local Youthtown to see what's on (and to book) these holidays or after school.
Activity Sessions at Youth Hubs :
Typically FREE thanks to funding, Youth Hubs are where all the action is, after school and holidays.
This is an opportunity to have a go at a wide range of activities alongside experienced Youth Coordinators. Plus it's so much more fun to learn/experience something when you're with others.
We make sure there's a mix of physical/outdoor adventure, creative arts and social/life skills, so in the morning you couldl be blo-carting and the afternoon you could be doing a mural, with more of the week to look forward to. (view generic flyer here)
See what's on near you!
Typically FREE thanks to funding, Youthtown's workshops are about tapping into our networks of experts so that you can build specific skills and gain formal recognition on completion.
The content is designed for your age group to be relevant, interactive and fun, covering topics that aren't always taught in schools and you've told us are needed. Best of all, they can help you get closer to the job or further education you want in the near future.
Workshops like Financial literacy and Learner's licence will set you up for life. Other workshops like our creative or fitness ones give you the chance to immerse yourself in something you're really into, with like-minded new friends.
Volunteering on our programmes for 5-12's involves being treated as one of our staff, with all the training that goes with this. (view flyer here).
Camps and Tramps :
Typically FREE thanks to funding, Youthtown's Camps and Tramps are life-changing. They are run by staff that know how to ensure everyone has the best time, while unlocking your hidden potential.
Because we have access to the most amazing parts of New Zealand and we have our own lodge (central North Island), there are plenty of places to explore together.
The themes are : Snow, Adventure, Leadership, Squad, Sport, Enviro and include transport. Many on the snow/outdoor adventure camps have never seen snow before, but can snowboard by the end of the trip. Our South Island team make the most of their special access to DoC land. See one of their videos (here).
Check your location page for when the next camp is. (view generic flyer here).
Project Groups :
Many of New Zealand's communities and councils are seeing young people's input and Youthtown is their go-to.
We love facilitating these select groups of young people who have a passion for the projectsthey commit to. There's so much to learn along the way and then so much to celebrate when each of the team's goals are met.
Youthtown's Youth Squads or Councils in each area of New Zealand work together for a whole year on a number of different projects. This team gets to know how to leverage each other's strengths really well over time and this is never more evident when you attend their smoothly run events.
Keep an eye on your location page for the invite to apply!
Youthtown, often via Youth Squads event management, run events themselves or we partner up with community organisations to make them even bigger.
There are music events like the music festival run by the Taupo Squad, the Hip Hop event put on by Auckland's Programme participants, the Condor7s' finals in Auckland. the LYFE festival and Zombie Apocalypse event in Christchurch to name a few.
We'll keep you posted on what's coming up in your location.
