Our People
Behind every great programme is a group of caring and conscientious operational staff.
Get to know the friendly faces caring for your kids.

Richard
Kia ora I’m Richard and I am the South Island Programmes Manager. I have a background in education as a Primary and Intermediate School principal and have been involved in volunteer Youth work. I looked for new career challenges working in health advocacy with the Haemophilia Foundation and now I am back to my roots helping to develop and support children, youth and our Youthtown staff as they develop new skills and passions. Youthtown is a great place to be a part of as a staff member or programme participant. I am looking forward to our continued growth as a Youthtown community.

Julian
Kia ora I'm Julian and I coordinate our After School and Holiday Programme at Chisnallwood Intermediate! I have been working with Youthtown since 2016 and have absolutely loved every minute of it. I am originally from the UK but moved to Christchurch when I was 9. I studied English and Cinema Studies at the University of Canterbury. I love movies, writing, and playing football!

Bonnie
Kia ora I’m Bonnie and I am the Coordinator of Te Waka Unua Youthtown! (I thought "Super Leader" or "Boss of everyone I see" would be better titles but this will have to do) I love kapa haka and I am very involved in my Māori culture. My favourite things to do at work are build forts and obstacle courses and come up with creative ways to have fun!
