As of 12 noon, Wednesday, 12 August 2020, Auckland has been placed under Alert Level 3. During alert level 3 After School Programmes cannot open in Auckland. We will credit you for the days we are unable to open with alert level 3 and these will appear on your account over the coming days. We will be ready to open again for programmes at alert level 2 with the required safety measures in place as we have previously. In the meantime, we would like to remind you to check out Youthtown ConnectDuring the COVID-19 rāhui, our dedicated programmes staff took to YouTube to provide an online Youthtown experience. This is a great resource for activities to do while we can’t see you face to face.

While Auckland is under Alert Level 3, the rest of New Zealand is now under Level 2 restrictions. During alert level 2 After School Programmes can still run. We are working with your school so we can align with them on protocols. Once we have been able to do this, we will let you know of any changes. We have operated under alert level 2 and will continue to run with the required safety measures in place

Unfortunately MSD (Ministry of Social Development) have advised us that our After School Programmes cannot open during alert level 3, which is in place 28 April for at least two weeks. However we are waiting on a decision about an extension to the in-home childcare we are currently delivering for families of essential workers as well as to any family that requires this service during this period.

Youthtown invites you, your friends and whanau to knit/crochet as many blanket squares as you can, as a way to give back to New Zealand. 15cm x 15cm squares in any colour and pattern, to represent our diversity and vibrancy! Even though we cannot physically connect right now, we can in spirit, by building together the blocks to make tonnes of blankets for those that will really need them in the winter months.

Check out the latest updates from Youthtown and insights from our young people.
