Alert Level 2 Information Update
Kia ora koutou,
We are pleased that following on from today’s announcement, we will be moving to Covid-19 Alert Level 2 tonight at midnight here in Auckland. We would like to remind you of how our programmes will run during this time to create a healthy and safe environment for your children, our staff and yourselves.
To keep your children safe we will continue with the policies and procedures previously implemented in Level 2, taken from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Social Development and Ministry of Education guidelines.
These include the following:
If you or your child are unwell, stay home and focus on getting well, ensuring you follow Healthline (0800 358 5453) advice as required. Please let us know as soon as possible if your child is unable to attend programme and we will make the necessary changes on your account.
Additional cleaning and sanitising of equipment, surfaces, and vans along with strict handwashing practices. We have added specified times for our children to wash hands so this is maintained throughout the programme.
Sign out processes will be the same as last Level 2 at your site. Our sites will be set up so that 2 metre spacings are there, to ensure physical distancing. Hand sanitiser will be provided. Where external sign-out set up is not practicable, your coordinator will contact you directly to discuss your specific site arrangement.
We will minimise food handling to reduce any risk to your children. We ask if possible that your child brings an extra snack in their lunchbox and their own drink bottle. As a back-up, we will provide individually wrapped packaged snacks for those who may need them.
Face masks are encouraged for places where physical distancing is difficult. We have provided these for staff, however as you may be aware, schools do not require face masks. You are welcome to provide masks for your children along with scarves or bandanas or you can even fashion your own. If your child is anxious about the new look please let your Coordinator know.
QR code Posters
All our sites have QR posters displayed at the entrance. We recommend that you download the NZ COVID Tracer app, enable Bluetooth and that you scan the poster when you pick up your child to keep a track of where you have been.
As always, your children will have a full range of fun and exciting activities and we will ensure extra cleaning and sanitising of toys and equipment.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak with your Programme Coordinator.
Ngā mihi nui,
The Youthtown Team
