Youthtown is in the News

We thought it was important to let you know that there has been media coverage today of allegations that have been made in regard to a former staff member. These allegations are confidential and being investigated by the police, who we are cooperating with fully.

The safety and wellbeing of our participants is our highest priority.

We have comprehensive policies and procedures including Health and Safety and a Code of Conduct, regarding how our programmes are delivered - and we invest in training our staff to uphold these.

We care about our participants and their families and we have also been working with the family, involved with the allegations, to support them at this time.

Youthtown has an 85 year history of delivering high quality programmes to hundreds of thousands of young people throughout New Zealand. We are committed to its vision to “Empower young New Zealanders to be the best they can be” and we are proud of our work, delivering values based programmes that develop knowledge and skills in young people.
