Update on Youthtown is in the News
As an update to our communication on 23 November 2017, this is to advise that a former staff member has, today, pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful sexual connection and indecent communications with a person under 16, earlier last year. Sentencing will be late October.
We care about our participants and their families and I want to take the opportunity to reiterate that all of our staff undergo background checks and police vetting before starting employment with us, as the safety and wellbeing of our participants is our highest priority.
We have comprehensive policies and procedures including Health and Safety and a Code of Conduct, regarding how our programmes are delivered - and we invest in training our staff to uphold these.
Youthtown has an 85 year history of delivering high quality programmes to hundreds of thousands of young people throughout New Zealand.
