Get your adrenaline pumping with Snow Adventure Camps

This year’s action-packed Snow Adventure Camps are coming up!  Let your kids/teenagers hit the slopes these holidays at Mt Ruapehu with Youthtown's Snow Adventure Camps. These camps cater for skiers and boarders at all levels of experience.  

The camps include transport from Auckland, qualified & experienced adult supervisors, Ski/Snowboard Gear Hire, Lift pass, Snow Sport instruction, Accommodation & Food (except during transit) and evening activities!!!

The camps are in the first and second weeks of the September-October school holidays and cost $520. All activities are led by outdoor trained instructors so all campers experience the activities in a fun, safe, environment.

Third time's a charm for Youthtown Short Film Challenge winner

An animated film made by South Auckland-based Massacre Films, also known as Isaiah Tour, has taken the top prize in the annual Youthtown Short Film Challenge. (Isaiah is pictured with Short Film Challenge judges Johnny Givens and Paula Jones.) 

The six-minute bilingual cartoon, called Cookie, describes the tragic consequences of a feud between two families of biscuits – the Afghans and the Shortbreads. Eighteen-year old Isaiah, who also took the judges’ gong for Best Script, wins $2,000 in Harvey Norman vouchers.

Best Script – Cookies 

Best Use of Prop – No Signal

The winners of the Youthtown Short Film Challenge were announced last night at a screening at Auckland’s Academy Cinema. It was judged by a panel of industry experts, including Paula Jones, head of documentary at South Seas Film and TV School and Johnny Givins, head of on-screen acting at South Seas.

Congratulations to all winners! It’s not too early to think about your entries for next year.

Two-day trips a week travelling to Whakapapa Ski Field. Beginners to experienced shredders welcome from this Sunday!!

Discover Ski or Snowboard      

If you've never skied or snowboarded before this is for you! It includes:

  • Beginners' area lift pass to ride the lifts in Happy Valley
  • Full day hire of skis, boots and poles or snowboard and boots
  • 1 hr 50 min Discover ski or snowboard group lesson
  • Transport to Whakapapa and back

$35 per person per day

The Next Step Ski or Snowboard

If you've had one or two days on the snow and are ready to start moving a little higher up the slopes the Next Step Package will get you there. It includes:

  • · Lower Mountain Day Pass
  • · Full day hire of skis, boots and poles or snowboard and boots
  • · 1 hr 50 min Next Step ski or snowboard group lesson
  • Transport to Whakapapa and back

$45 per person per day

Free Ride Ski or Snowboard

If you are an experienced shredder, and can easily navigate all terrain, think your past having lessons and want to free ride then this is for you! It includes:

  • All Mountain Day Pass
  • Full day hire of skis, boots and poles or snowboard and boots
  • Transport to Whakapapa and back

$25 per person per day

The Expert

If you have your own season or life pass, competent at skiing or snowboarding the whole mountain, want to just rip it up and have fun and don’t need gear then come and shred with us.

Lift to the mountain and back to Taupo - $10 per person per day
